Cool!  I will definitely try that as well as your patches.  It's funny, I was bummed at first because I couldn't just use a no amp setting so I just picked a clean amp.  It didn't occur to me to just use a clean setting on Channel B...DUH! 

Of course I was in a hurry since I use so many different patches and had to convert them all to pre only, trying to get the right levels.  Still working on it, but it sure is worth the effort.  The HD500 sounded great through my keyboard amp, but this is just a whole different level.  I love it!

Thanks for the tips.  Still trying to figure out the optimal way to set up and level everything...how to set drive, volume on the HD500 and how to set the master volume on the DT25, stuff like that.  Every time I figure something new out I have to go back and apply it to the rest of my patches.  With a very limited time available to play at volume, it makes it a real challenge.  The fact that I have very little experience with real guitar amps adds to it.  That's one huge advantage with the Dream Rig, there are few variables with everyone using basically the same gear from guitar to preamp to amp.

Hi Scott - your request is certainly fair enough.  I will endeavor while I have some free time to record and post a video of my dream rig in my version of acoustic mode for you and anyone else to see and hear.

Just a small codicil to anything I post audio only or video.  I'm not an acoustic guitar purist as some on here are.  Just to write it now in case anyone feels my acoustic sounds are not "real enough".  Too many choices, too many options, etc. with a Dream Rig for any one person's opinion to be the "right one".  All very subjective and it's up to those who use this gear to choose which is best for their purposes.

They've written about the 1.81 acoustic models sounding like guitars in a bathroom while the previous acoustic guitar models found on 1.71 do not have this ambient quality which seems to be more preferred.  I personally agree that all guitar models should be "in your face" and with all the FX to choose from, any ambience or more "room acoustic" could be added instead of the need to work around them to get both the 1.81 full functionality with the POD HD units, or have more user friendly 1.71 acoustic guitar models while sacrificing the all the other 1.81 features.  The option to have a choice would be best, but perhaps this is not a DSP possibility, or some other computer coding resource issue I would know nothing about.

I read your post thoroughly and understand your "needs" vs. your "wants".  Using the Dream Rig might not be the best option for your needs or wants at this point in time.  I've played my POD HD500 through high end bass cabinets with variable tweeter/horn controls both my acoustic and electric sounds.  I have patches set for that situation which adjusts the high Q on my electric patches.  I've done the opposite as I wrote previously.  My full stage rig has both as I do play bass, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, and synthesizer from my Taurus pedals through my bass or my older Variax 700s that all have GK-3 Roland pickups on them into two Roland GR-55 units.  This is obviously not what you are looking for.

And since you brought up your age by saying you're old.  I'm 51 and my ever increasing head to toe very severe Arthritis makes it hard to even stand through a typical four hour show. My Arthritic condition is congenital which started attacking my body parts in my 20s and it's simply a race against the time I have left to perform that I'll not win.  Even then it put an end to my baseball pitching career.  Add to that my back, knees, and other essential body parts have been through decades of roadieing tons of gear from the old days where bigger was always better, to these recent days where you have the choice of smaller to get the sounds you want.  It is literally killing me to set up and tear down my gear and it's not likely I'll be getting a roadie to help me any time before I pass away.

Back onto your topic...

My belief is that your will have to choose or another form of amplification if you don't wish to carry two amps.  However, you asked me to post a video to demonstrate my acoustic patches through the Dream Rig, and I will do this ASAP. 

Have you checked out the Line 6 LowDown combo amps?  Perhaps, one of those models will be what you are looking for if you can go 100% solid state.  Some of those models have a physical switch for the horn which might just work well enough to give you both good electric sounds as well as good acoustic sounds from one amp?  Or maybe there are other bass amps with a similar switchable tweeter?  I've not seen any Keyboard of acoustic specific amps that have this feature or are made with tubes.  Maybe the Shenandoah line of acoustic amps made by Genz-Benz?
