President of Line 6, Co-General Manager Yamaha Guitar Division
Marcus Ryle, co-founder and President, has been responsible for driving innovation in Line 6 products since its inception. Marcus co-founded Fast Forward Designs in 1985, which developed groundbreaking products for Alesis, Digidesign and other companies before evolving into the Line 6 brand in 1996. Prior to Fast Forward Designs, Marcus was a design engineer for Oberheim, where he helped create several now-legendary analog synthesizers.
Marcus' long history and expertise in technology and product development have resulted in best-selling musical instrument and audio products in several categories, and the co-invention of 19 US patents. In 2012, Mr. Ryle was inducted into the first annual Keyboard Hall of Fame and the inaugural Guitar Player Hall of Fame. A classically trained pianist, Marcus has played keyboards and/or created sounds for several motion picture and television soundtracks, as well as numerous professional recording artists including Barbra Streisand, Olivia Newton-John, Christopher Cross, Chicago, Chaka Khan and Lee Ritenour.
Chief Operating Officer
Joe Bentivegna, Chief Operating Officer, is responsible for building the teams that manage Line 6's supply chain, providing outstanding customer service and delivering world-class products. He was most recently Executive Vice President of Operations and services for Equallogic, a company in the high-capacity storage space subsequently acquired by Dell.
Prior to Equallogic, Mr. Bentivegna held several positions during his 16-year tenure at Avid Technology, during which time Avid grew from a small, vertically focused video company to a leader in digital media and audio. His most recent positions included Chief Operating Officer for the Video Division, President and General Manager of Avid Technology Asia, Vice President of Worldwide Operations, and Vice President of European Operations and Services. Mr. Bentivegna brings a proven track record of success to help lead Line 6 through its continued growth.
Senior Vice President of Corporate Development and Administration
Susan Wolf, Senior Vice President of Corporate Development and Administration, is a principal executive responsible for the corporate development and post-acquisition integration strategy with Yamaha. Susan is also responsible for the functional management of Human Resources, Administration, including all facilities worldwide and cultivating the Line 6 Company Culture. Susan was a founding member of Fast Forward Designs/Line 6 in 1985, and has served in many functional roles including CFO, and the management of the IT and Customer Service departments.
As a singer, songwriter, and keyboard player, Susan has been a member of multiple original and cover bands since her early teens, performing at many venues throughout Los Angeles
Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer
Chris Hagemann, Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer, is responsible for leading the Company’s finance and accounting organization. Prior to joining Line 6, Ms. Hagemann was most recently the Vice President of Corporate Development & CFO, Global Services at N2N Global, a leading provider of software & service solutions for the food industry. Previously, Ms. Hagemann was Director of Finance for Sunkist, an international citrus supplier. Prior to Sunkist, she was Vice President of Finance for William Morris Endeavor, a top talent and literary agency. Ms. Hagemann began her career in public accounting with Deloitte, after graduating with an Accounting degree from Loyola Marymount University. Chris is also a vocalist, currently performing in multiple Los Angeles area bands.
Steve De Furia
Vice President of Products
Steve De Furia, Vice President of Products, is responsible for building the products organization at Line 6; providing a customer-focused, business-centric framework that drives our long term product roadmap.
Steve has a diverse background in music and technology. He has worked as a recording engineer, session player and programmer. As synthesist and computer programmer with Frank Zappa, he created several applications for algorithmic composition. He was a featured columnist for Keyboard magazine and taught Electronic Music and Audio Production and Engineering at Berklee College of Music. Steve has authored several books on music technology, performance and computer programming. Prior to joining the Line 6 team in 1999, he was Director of Product Development at Lexicon, Inc.
A transplanted north-easterner, Steve has developed a deep appreciation for southern California’s coastal waters and frequently wades the surf zone at dawn—fly rod in hand.
Vice President of Engineering
Mike Paganini, Vice President of Engineering, leads Line 6’s engineering and development organization, which includes electrical, mechanical and embedded systems engineering, digital signal processing, sound design, software development and product test.
With over 20 years of engineering and product development experience, Mr. Paganini has a long history of delivering cutting-edge products to market. Prior to joining Line 6, Mr. Paganini was Director of Systems Engineering for JBL Professional, a division of Harman International, and has also held management and engineering positions at DIRECTV, SPL Integrated Solutions and JBL Professional. Mr. Paganini began his career as a recording studio technician while completing his B.S.E.E. from the University of Texas at El Paso.
As an accomplished bassist, Mike has also enjoyed an active musical career performing with numerous world music and jazz artists, highlighted by live appearances on NBC’s Today Show and the Latin Grammy Awards.
Vice President of Marketing
Simon Jones, Vice President of Marketing, heads up a diverse and talented group of marketers who develop strategic plans, creative content, direct customer communications, product training and who enable the sales team through channel marketing programs.
Getting a taste for working in audio as an intern at EMI and Abbey Road Studios, he started his career in the role of R&D Engineer with Martin Audio, London, designing high performance speaker systems. A product management position with JBL Professional brought Mr. Jones to the USA. He spent twelve years with JBL in senior marketing positions, with an additional two years in a marketing director role with the TC Group. He also spent time consulting for RKS Guitars in their start-up phase.
Simon’s path started with his high school teacher’s after-school guitar building club, which led to a B. Eng. 1st with Honors in Electroacoustics from the University of Salford, England. Simon is still passionate about everything guitar and plays regularly. He has spent the past twenty years volunteering for Ride On, a non-profit therapeutic horsemanship program, in an advisory role and providing audio and emcee services for their special events and fundraising.
Vice President of North American Sales
Steve Bartkoski, Vice President of North American Sales, is responsible for all sales activities for the US and Canadian regions. Alongside the North American sales team, Steve is responsible with aligning our retail partners with Line 6’s internal products and marketing groups to maximize go to market strategies and end customer sales.
Prior to joining Line 6, Steve has led sales teams at M-Audio and Avid over his 14 year career in MI sales. He has Bachelor’s of Music Education and a Master Degree in Jazz Piano Performance and Composition from the University of North Texas. He continues to perform, arrange, and compose in addition to his duties at Line 6.
Rutger de Groot
Vice President of International Sales
Rutger de Groot, Vice President of International Sales, is responsible for all sales outside of North America. With his team he works with regional sales partners to maximize sales and ensuring optimal visibility and promotion for Line 6 products.
He joined Line 6 in 2007, initially responsible for Line 6’s Asia Pacific expansion, taking on International Sales in 2013. Prior to Line 6 he was part of Ableton, a then start-up company in Berlin. As their Commercial Director he helped grow the company to become the significant player in Digital Audio Software and Hardware that they are now. He also worked for Ernst & Young, Sonic Foundry and Sony Music. Rutger holds a Masters of Business degree with Maastricht University.
Alongside his professional career, Rutger has remained an active performing and recording guitar player. He is located in the Netherlands.
