POD Studio UX2 works for me with powered hub on windows 7!

Well... I am using Windows 7 RTM (32 Bit) and POD Studio UX2 with the beta-drivers by line 6.

It was mentioned before that problems with the POD Studio UX2 may go away with an external powered hub.. and I tried it with my (old) external USB-HUB and had no luck at all... Anyway ... I thought that may be just some coincident for people who found that a solution.

But currently I am jaming with POD Farm (Plugin) in Reaper while using jamstix drums and 4 audio tracks with backings... and... I even have some bit-torrent and my usual system stuff (outlook, apache2, two mysql servers, anti-virus, skype, dropbox and steam) running..

The story is: I am switching to MAC soon.. already got logic 9 and because the new iMAC 27" has only 4 USB I decided to get a cool new External USB Hub. I got the "BELKIN USB 7-Port Plus Hub" (bought at apple store btw..) which has 7 ports and an external power connector. I tell what exactly so others may try it.

As my iMac is not yet delivered (it comes next week.. hurray) I did not use that HUB till I got some spare time today and wanted to try what happens when I use it with the POD Studio UX2 ... I did NOT expect any positive results.. So I am quite astonished... still... It just magically seem to work

In addition I experience that I can use my Stealth Pedal without the audio-glitches I have when adding it directly to the same usb port I have the hub connected to!

It even works to have both: POD Studio UX2 and the Stealth Pedal connected to the HUB and I could switch between the cards in reaper and both worked without pops and glitches! It did not work to run POD Studio UX2 as stand alone and feed the output of the Stealth Pedal to the UX2 Line ins... but I did not try with higher latencies.. was just an experiment.

I do get blue screens in between while plugging in and out (bad pool caller usually) but I got those too without a HUB and on all eight different USB Ports my computer has.

So again: I have a working POD Studio UX2 without any audio glitches for some hours and some reboots and it is reproducable! I can omit the Belking 7 Port USB-Hub and instantly have glitches from POD Studio UX2 (and Stealth Pedal)... put the HUB back and connect to the HUB.. and it works for both devices!

One thing I noticed has changed... when I use no HUB and I try lower buffers, reaper will not start replay then I press the the play button - it reacts as if it got hold back by the audio device.

When I increase the latencies / buffers to what I usually need to use (256 on the UX2 and 144 on the Stealth Padel) it just works as expected. I also do not understand why reaper says I have 23ms with the POD Studio UX2 and 9 ms with the Stealth Pedal.. but that may have to do with "real" vs "theoretical" latencies.

So .. if anybody wanna try that out.. please report here so other users may get info on such findings!
